Passions: Threadworks 2007, is a juried exhibition organized by the Ontario Network of Needleworkers. This exhibition is a superb celebration of the needle arts. Entries to Passions were as varied and spectacular as the techniques and materials used to create them. Sixty pieces were selected by jurors Nan Hogg, Barbara Kershaw and Mary Misner from the original 125 entries.

The jurors commented that, "The theme, Passions, provoked a wide range of interpretation from many talented entrants. Some were subtle, some very personal, some very humorous and some filled with concern for social or environmental issues. [The jurors] were pleased to see an intriguing mix of traditional and non- traditional techniques." Passions was scheduled to travel to 15 galleries and museums across Ontario between early 2007 and the end of 2009.

This show will provide an excellent opportunity for visitors to observe the variety of methods and media that are used by contemporary textile artists and to learn more about an art form with extensive historical significance.

It really is a wonderful exhibition. I had a chance to see it right after it opened in Grimsby, and I really enjoyed it.
