GET SCHOOLED: Shaped Resist Dyeing Workshop (November 16)

SHAPED RESIST DYEING WORKSHOP

Cedar Ridge Creative Centre is presenting this one-day workshop with Maureen Harding of Dreamspin Fibres on November 16th, 2008.

During this workshop, you will be introduced to several shaped resist dyeing techniques. You will make highly textured and colourful samples by combining techniques of felting, nuno felting, clamping, stitching and folding and various other resist techniques. The felt will be dyed, then overdyed. This results in a highly textured surface which is permanent, and gorgeous!
Take home several dyed samples, and the know-how to proceed with your own projects.


Date : Sunday, November 16th

Location : Cedar Ridge Creative Centre (map),
225 Confederation Drive, two streets south of Lawrence Ave. E,
off of Scarborough Golf Club Road

Time : 9am - 4pm (with a break for lunch - please bring a lunch)

Cost : $55 + $20 cash to be paid to instructor for materials

Additional information : Please bring an apron,
household/latex gloves, elastic bands, marbles, and stones.
