Inspiring local Jewellery designer Anneke Van Bommel has sent along this note about her upcoming classes at George Brown:

It's that time of year again, to sharpen pencils, click heels, put on a tweed cap and try something new. I have Introductory Jewellery classes starting on Sept. 22nd, Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 9:30 PM. The class runs untill Dec. 01.

In this class you will learn all the basics: Sawing with a jewellers saw, filing, sanding, polishing metal etc. You will complete four projects including a brass band ring, a sterling silver pierced band ring, a pendant and a final piece of your own choice with a stone setting. This course covers a lot of material but is very rewarding and fun, with the skills that you develop and the pieces that you come away with.

A full course description, details and registration can be completed by following this link.

I have a few spots left for the Mon/Wed class...so register asap to reserve your spot.

Please feel free to forward this information to friends that you think may be interested.

For those of you that have already taken the Intro course, I have openings in the "Jewellery surface Treatments and Colouring" course which is an exploratory course on metal patinas, water casting, fabricating with acrylic, resin and epoxy enamels, surface embellishment, textures and more.

Take care, Anneke
