Some recent googling led me to “The Best Places to Find Stuff Made by Local Designers” compiled by blogTO. They’ve selected 12 shops and profiled each one (some more extensively than others) with interviews and photos. There is even a voting function where you can rate the shop out of 5 and leave comments.
