GET SCHOOLED: Basics sewing class at Bad Dog Theatre (August 23)

Basics Sewing Class!

If you've always wanted to learn or perhaps did once and are a little rusty, this is the class for you.

You will learn how to thread the machine, properly cut out a pattern and sew straight, curved and French seams as well as discover the use of facings and the importance of pressing. Each class is five hours long on a Saturday afternoon. At the end of the class you will have made a fun summer top that transitions perfectly into fall from a pattern that is yours to keep.

Materials list:

- a sewing machine! Any model; I carry mine in a rolling carry-on bag wrapped in a blanket.
- 1 meter of a woven fabric; think quilter's cotton
- matching thread and bobbin
- fabric scissors, ruler or measuring tape, straight pins, needle(s) for your machine and a stitch ripper

Cost: $50
Location: Bad Dog Theatre (138 Danforth Avenue)
Date: Aug 23 from noon to 5 pm
