Cambridge Galleries invite entries for the 2008 Fibreworks exhibition. Fibreworks is a biennial juried exhibition of Canadian fibre art that provides a premier national overview of current activity in the fibre art medium.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1. Open to all Canadian artists. Deadline for entry is Friday, July 25, 2008.

2. Eligible works include any artwork where fibre is the principle element. All work must have been made within the last two years and designed by the entrant. All works must be of a reasonable size and ready to install.

3. Please submit images saved as 72 dpi jpegs (800 x 600 pixels/1.5 MG file size max.) on CD-ROM. The maximum number is three entries per artist. Each entry may be represented by up to 3 digital images showing overall views and details. All CDs and images must be clearly identified with the name of the artist and the title of the artwork. Submitted CDs will become the property of Cambridge Galleries as part of our cumulative archive of images of contemporary Canadian fibre art. Please include a brief statement (100 words max.) describing each of the artworks submitted along with a current CV.

4. The selection will take place in two stages:
Stage 1: Initial selections will be made from digital entries. Selected artists will be notified of the jury's decision by Friday, August 8, 2008.
Stage 2: Successful Stage 1 applicants will be invited to deliver their work to Cambridge Galleries for the jury's final selection by Thursday, August 21, 2008.
Cambridge Galleries will cover the cost of shipping and return of all accepted entries.

5. Juror's decisions are final. No entry may be withdrawn once it has been accepted. All work accepted will be insured for the duration of the exhibition.

6. Artists selected for the exhibition will receive an exhibition fee of $75 for each work selected.

7. Jurors Awards will be announced at the Opening Reception on Saturday, September 20 at 2:30 pm.
