SUPPLY YOUR HABIT: letterpress field trip

Those curious about letterpress or into building up their own stash of paper & printing gear may be interested in this fieldtrip organized by Akemi of KOZO Studio/Gallery:

woodtype

I've worked with Craig Black to organize a Saturday trip to Don Black Linecasting's huge crammed warehouse in Scarborough.

For those of you who don't know, this is THE PLACE to find a tabletop or floor press, wood and metal type, corner rounder, paper cutter, composing stick, qoins, chase, and anything else to do with letterpress printing and the industry in general. People even come from the U.S.!

Craig will show us some of the equipment and can answer questions that some of you may have about presses, etc. If we're lucky, we might even get our names cast in lead! This is also an opportunity to buy some pieces you may need to start or add to your collection.

I will give Craig the number of attendees on March 23. So please RSVP before then!

We'll also try to do a car pool so that anyone who buys some cool stuff can transport it home easily.

This is going to be fun!
