George Brown College presents ROUGE, the 2008 Jewellery Arts Graduate Exhibition and Sale

April 10 through May 4, 2008 at Bounty – The Canadian Contemporary Craft Shop at Harbourfront Centre

Rouge is the dark red polishing compound used by goldsmiths to put a mirror finish on jewellery. At George Brown College, the Jewellery Arts Class of 2008 is busy putting the final polish on their jewellery creations for Rouge, the 2008 Graduate Exhibition and Sale.

George Brown College is pleased to present Rouge from April 10 to May 4, 2008. Rouge will be hosted as a free exhibition by Bounty – The Canadian Contemporary Craft Shop at Harbourfront Centre. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2008 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. An awards ceremony will also be held at 6:30 pm in the Brigantine Room. This event is open to the public and free to attend. The exhibition can be seen during regular Bounty store hours (11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday to Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday to Friday).

For this year’s graduates, Rouge will be the culminating event of the three year Jewellery Arts program at George Brown College. Rouge will showcase more than one hundred one-of-a-kind, handcrafted traditional and contemporary jewellery works designed and made by the program’s 20 newly minted metalsmiths.
