GET SCHOOLED: free bookbinding workshop with the t.o. church of craft

Here's an invitation to bind from Sister Leah, Reverend Mother of our beloved Toronto Church of Craft (and profesh bookbinder):

Don't be fooled by the balmy weather - you'll be begging for a new indoor activity for February, so why not start a publishing empire!

Learn to stitch a no-glue, multiple-signatured book in just a couple of hours.

Cover and textblock paper will be available, but you are more than welcome to bring your own papers and personalize your new work.

Other tools you could bring if you've got 'em:
bone folder
awl
ruler
cutting mat
x-acto knife
scissors

This might be the ever fun and ever reliable 'button-hole' stitch book, but I haven't completely decided.

This all goes down in Parkdale's craftiest corner: the workroom - 1340 Queen St. W. on Sunday, January 20 at 1pm.

In craft, Leah

Does anyone know if we need to sign up for the bookbinding workshop or just show up?

Just show up! Coming earlier than later means you get the instructions from the beginning and aren't lost.

leah, the bookbindress, lives in berlin at the moment. so not for awhile...you might consider searching the site for kozo studio, or check out workshops at the paper place.
