TALK AMONGST YOURSELVES

what's going on folks? did anyone recently receive some handmade goods they'd like to tell us about? what are your crafty plans for the new year?

as part of the Toronto Craft Alert's goal to galvanize the city's craft community, we'd like to get a bit of a discussion going. discuss any crafty topic you like... we'll be re-posting this thread every monday morning, so that the discussions can continue in the comments section of this post.

I had a fantastic time taking part as a vendor in the Sassy Little Holiday show at the Victory Cafe. Audrey and Christa did an amazing job organizing such fun laid back event!

i was at the workroom on friday for the cram session, and it was super fun! karyn made some baked brie and put out grapes, so classy! it was my first time at the workroom and i was impressed by how beautiful everything was; all the vintage furniture and new fabrics. can i move in?

Now that all my Christmas orders are finished I plan to spend today and tomorrow making myself a really spectaular gift. We are going on a cruise next week and I want something amazing to show off to my entire extended family who are also going to be there...

Now to figure out what I want to do. I have a beautiful piece of silver set aside for this, and I always find a clean new sheet a bit intimidating!

karyn - i finished the gift i was making. it was only ok - i had to adjust the pattern a bit because the head was just too big! the face that i embroidered is really cute, and i'm glad you convinced me this bunny needed a face. i hope my giftee will like it! i'll upload a photo to the flickr group.

I am in Houston at my in laws frantically wrapping presents but have to say that I bought a baker's dozen of Becky's buttons that I am using on packages to adorn and keep the ribbons together. They look fantastic--and to think that I was going to wrap them!

now that i have had all of the video watching, overeating & sleeping-in-the-daytime i can handle, i am ready for some crafty action!

i haven't been to the textile museum in ages, so i am excited to check that out, and to spend some time in their library pouring over textile books & mags and hopefully getting inspired for my own future textile designs.

when i can muster the mojo to clear off my sewing table i am hoping to log some time on my quilting machine making some stuff for the valentine's trunk show at the workroom and getting geared up for my january quilting class. yeah!
