HELP WANTED: om home seeking assistant
OM home is expanding and needs an extra set of hands. Here is their call for an assistant:
Do you live in Toronto?
Do you need some extra cash?
Do you need flexible hours?
We're expanding! We're looking for a skilled, detail-oriented, friendly and driven Assistant for help in our studio, located in the Riverdale area, just east of downtown.
Flexible hours about 5-10 hours/week to start, can go upto 20 hours if we like your work and as the business grows.
We're very close to public transportation, TTC on the corner, Broadview Subway up the street. Opportunity to bring work home.
Position includes but is not limited to:
Ironing Products
Sewing in Fabric Tags
Fixing Zippers and seams
Preparing shipments
Building our customer lists (get paid to surf)
Preparing Press Kits (cropping, assembling)

Photographs of sample work will be a plus. There will be a short proficiency sewing and assembling test onsite.
Compensation is ~ $8/hr!

that pay rate is too low
i was wondering...what's the average rate for this kind of work?
$8 an hour for ironing?

Anonymous, we're sorry the pay rate is too low for you but since we're a start up company, that's all we can afford at this time.
We had briefly considered posting this job as an unpaid internship as many businesses in our position do but we decided against it. We want to pay people for their work!
This position still comes with many benefits of internships, an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of running a successful small business and/or the opportunity to grow with us.
