GET SCHOOLED: Holiday Gifting Workshops@the workroom

Want to get your craft on and make something cool for the one you love? the workroom, Toronto's first sew and craft by the hour workspace, has four holiday gifting workshops scheduled to help you get a jump start on your holiday gifting!

These one night workshops in Parkdale will inspire you to get crafty and make simple, beautiful gifts for your family, friends and for yourself. Email the workroom with any questions or to sign up.

Wine Bottle Vases $30
Friday November 23, 7-9pm
Empty wine bottles haven’t made it to recycling? Convert your blue box Beaujolais into stylish vases. Learn to use a bottle cutter to cut the tops of wine and beer bottles and glass jars. Using simple glass etching techniques you’ll personalize your glass vessels. Go home with a new appreciation for empties. Absolutely no sewing skills required.

Handy Apron $35
Wednesday November 28, 7-9pm
This apron is super handy for crafters, gardeners and anyone working with tools. It has several pockets and a couple loops so that you will always have everything you need close by. This is the perfect class for a beginner to get some practice on the sewing machine.

Quilt-as-you-go Tote - $50
Thursday November 29, 6-9pm
Scraps have never been happier than in this cute and quirky tote! Pieced and quilted at the same time, we'll whip it up fast in this fun three hour workshop. Bonus! It even has pen pockets! A great project for a confident beginner with a few projects under her belt or an instant gratification project for a more experienced sewer.

Sewn Men’s Tie - $50
Wednesday December 12, 6-9pm
Every guy on your list will want one of these dressed up ties. You will learn to cut and sew on the bias. To add extra special detailing, we’ll try out some easy image transfer and stenciling techniques. Suddenly, a tie is not such a boring gift.

A complete class schedule can be downloaded from the workroom website.
