nanopod's at it again with more workshops on offer:

Beginning Jewelry/Goldsmith

Learn how to hand fabricate & cast your own jewelry,
sculptures, fashion accessories using Sterling Silver!
You will make a band ring, learn one of the oldest casting techniques, learn how to etch metal, set stones, and much more!

Wednesday evenings starting August 29th
5 student max., 8 wks, 6:30p.m.-9:30p.m.
1 evening per week $250 + materials*
Pre registration required w/$100 deposit

week#1: working with copper- introduction, drilling, sawing, soldering

week#2: making a ring band out of silver(stamp, hammer finish, roller print, etc)

week#3: finishing your ring, patinas, polishing, working with wax for lost wax casting

week#4: continue working with wax, lo-tech casting in class.

week#5: cleaning up castings, creating your own findings (ear wires, jump rings, pin backs)

week#6: forming metal using the dapping block, disk cutters, married metals, etching, riveting, bezel settings, tube settings

week#7: create a piece using learned techniques

week#8: finish up projects

*some materials included: sterling silver for 1 ring band, copper, brass, silver solder.
Stones, sterling for other projects offered at a reasonable price. Resource list
of local suppliers given on first evening.
