hmm, i'm getting frustrated with the pop-ups and the ads. i'll find a better poll hosting website!
hey - I changed the poll host so that we don't have to look at stupid ads anymore, but that means we have to re-vote! a little frustrating I know, but as this is the very first discussion question on the TCA, I'm hoping you'll bear with us and these little technological blips. thanks!
here's a link to the original poll results.
could we just transfer the results? or would that be unscientific? stats was never my strong point...
o.k. here's my input on this issue, to (hopefully) get the ball rolling on some discussion.
i chose a) meeting artisans and getting to know your local DIY community.
as much as i am a fan of the crafts themselves, for me the most important aspect of craft fairs is the social/community dimension. it's just such a different type of shopping/consuming dynamic than the usual - much more interactive, allowing you form bonds with the makers behind the goods you love. also interacting with a whole whack of creative people in one space is where it's at for me.
this could also be because at one time i participated as a vendor in craft fairs fairly frequently, and i loved the warm vibe & leisurely chats with fellow vendors and fair attendees. so maybe it's a nostalgia for those times as well.
anyone else?
i tried to transfer the results but it wouldn't allow me to vote more than once, and i'm not savvy enough to re-jig them to reflect the original entries.
i chose 2-variety, although it was a tough split between 1 and 2. i love meeting creative people and i get really invigorated when i go to a craft fair or a similar event, but i also like seeing lots and lots of different things. things that make me go 'wow, i can't believe they made THAT' or 'holy craft, that's GENIUS! i never thought of putting __ with ___!'
